Arc Welders
Stick Welders (MMA Inverters) The Portable Solution

MMA (MANUAL METAL ARC) or STICK is one of the most common types of Arc Welding. It is the simplest form of welding and therefore the most suitable for the novice, plus it is relatively portable (no gas bottle needed) and cost-effective.

With MMA the arc is established between the metal and consumable flux coated electrode, which melts and contributes to the weld pool.

The flux produces gas during the welding cycle, protecting the weld area from oxidation. The flux also produces a slag, which lies on the surface further protecting the weld while it solidifies and which must be chipped away. Chipping the slag away is especially necessary when making multiple weld passes, to reduce the risk of imperfections and causing weakness in the weld.

MMA Machines are normally equipped with the following features:
Hot Start is a butilt -in device which produces an initial boost to the output voltage, which eases electric arc ignition.
Anti-Sticking is a built in device that switches off the welding power source if the electrode sticks to the material being welded - thus preventing against overloading the unit and easing removal of the electrode.

Arc Force prevents against short -circuits. It can be manually adjusted on high output machines and is pre-set on all others.
